Recently, the Amazon seller backend in the United States received Amazon's compliance requirements for "New Requirements for Consumer Products Containing Button Batteries or Coin Batteries," which will take effect immediately.
Consumer products containing coin cell batteries include, but are not limited to: calculators, cameras, flameless candles, glittery clothing, shoes, holiday decorations, keychain flashlights, musical greeting cards, remote controls and clocks.
New requirements for consumer products containing button batteries or coin batteries
Starting today, if you sell consumer products that contain coin cell or hard cell batteries, you must provide the following documentation to ensure compliance
Certificate of compliance from an IS0 17025 accredited laboratory demonstrating compliance with Underwriters Laboratories 4200A (UL4200A) standards
General certificate of conformity demonstrating compliance with UL4200A standards
Previously, Resich's law only applied to button or coin batteries themselves. For safety reasons, the law now applies to both these batteries and all consumer goods containing these batteries.
If valid compliance documentation is not provided, the item will be suppressed from display.
For more information, including which batteries are affected by this policy, go to Coin and coin batteries and products containing these batteries.

Button batteries and coin batteries to which this policy applies
This policy applies to oblate, round, single-piece independent button and coin batteries that are typically 5 to 25 mm in diameter and 1 to 6 mm in height, as well as consumer products containing button or coin batteries.
Button and coin batteries are sold individually and can be used in a variety of consumer goods and household items. Coin cells are usually powered by alkaline, silver oxide, or zinc air and have a low voltage rating (usually 1 to 5 volts). Coin batteries are powered by lithium, have a rated voltage of 3 volts, and are generally larger in diameter than coin cells.
