Electric toys

For toys that contain or supply button and coin batteries, there are the following additional voluntary safety measures:

●For button and coin batteries - place appropriate warnings on toy packaging describing the presence and associated hazards of such batteries, as well as steps to be taken if the batteries are swallowed or inserted into the human body. Also consider including appropriate graphic symbols in these warnings.

● Where feasible and appropriate, place graphic warning and/or hazard markings on toys containing button or coin batteries.

● Provide information in the instructions that come with the toy (or on the packaging) about the symptoms of accidental ingestion of button batteries or button batteries and about seeking immediate medical attention if ingestion is suspected.

●If the toy comes with button batteries or button batteries and the button batteries or button batteries are not pre-installed in the battery box, child-proof packaging should be used and appropriate warning signs should be marked on the packaging.

●The button batteries and button batteries used must have durable and indelible graphic warning marks indicating that they should be kept out of the reach of children or vulnerable persons.
