The new version of the standard kitchenware standard integrates the test content of the original standard and adds a number of performance tests related to coatings. The specific changes are as follows:

Added the handle pull test in the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005
Add non-stick coating performance test
Add the corrosion resistance test of the non-stick coating in the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005
Add the heat distribution test in the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005
Added and revised the applicability test of multiple heat sources in the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005
EN 12983-2:2023 Kitchenware - Inspection of household kitchenware - General requirements for ceramic cookware and glass lids
The scope of the standard is limited to ceramic cookware and glass lids only
Remove handle pull test, durability test of non-stick coating, corrosion resistance test of non-stick coating, heat distribution test and applicability test of multiple heat sources
Increase the impact resistance of ceramics
Add performance requirements for ceramic non-stick coatings and easy-to-clean coatings
Modification of thermal shock resistance performance requirements for ceramics
Compared with the old kitchenware standard, the new standard has higher requirements on the performance of non-stick coatings and ceramic kitchenware. For EU kitchenware export, please conduct kitchenware inspection according to the latest standards.
