The European Committee for Standardization CEN publishes the latest revision of the baby stroller EN 1888-1:2018+A1:2022
In April 2022, the European Committee for Standardization CEN published its latest revision EN 1888-1:2018+A1:2022 on the basis of the standard EN 1888-1:2018 for strollers. The EU requires all member states to adopt the new version of the standard as a national standard and abolish the old version by October 2022.
Compared with EN 1888-1:2018, the main update points of EN 1888-1:2018+A1:2022 are as follows:
1. Several terms in the standard have been revised;
2. Added a small head probe as a test device;
3. The chemical test requirements are revised, and the heavy metal migration test requirements are implemented in accordance with EN 71-3;
4. Revised the unintentional release test requirements of the locking mechanism, “the child is removed from the trolley” is no longer counted as an unlocking operation;
5. Revise the rope loop test requirements and test methods;
6. Delete the requirement for the collision and locking of the universal wheels (block);
7. In the road condition test and handlebar fatigue test, the test state requirements for adjustable handlebars and seats are added;
8. Clarified the requirements for load-bearing icons and revised some information requirements.
