As a computer peripheral product and a standard “companion” for office and study, the mouse has huge market demand every year. It is also one of the products that inspection workers in the electronics industry often inspect.
The key points of mouse quality inspection include appearance, function, grip, materials and packaging accessories. There may be different inspection points for different types of mice, but the following inspection points are universal.
1. Appearance and structural inspection
1) Check the surface of the mouse for obvious flaws, scratches, cracks or deformations;
2) Check whether the appearance parts are intact, such as buttons, mouse wheel, wires, etc.;
3) Check the flatness, tightness, whether the keys are stuck, etc.;
4)Check whether the battery sheets, springs, etc. are assembled in place and whether they affect the normal use of the battery function.
1. Functional inspection
Sample size: all test samples
1) Mouse connection check: According to the user manual or instruction manual, whether the mouse can be correctly connected to the computer interface and used normally;
2) Mouse button check: Use mouse testing software to test the correct response of the mouse buttons and the smoothness and accuracy of moving the cursor;
3) Pulley scrolling check: Test the functionality of the mouse scrolling pulley, the smoothness of the sliding, and whether there is any lag;
4) Transmitting and receiving port communication check (wireless mouse only): Insert the receiving part of the mouse into the computer port and check the communication between the wireless mouse and the computer. During the inspection, make sure all functions are working properly and look for functional gaps/interruptions in the mouse buttons.
1. On-site testing
1) Continuous running inspection: sample size is 2pcs per style. Connect the mouse cable to the computer or laptop port (PS/2, USB, Bluetooth connector, etc.) and run it for at least 4 hours. All functions must remain functioning;
2) Wireless mouse reception range check (if available): The sample size is 2pcs for each model. Check whether the actual reception range of the wireless mouse complies with the product manual and customer requirements;
3)Battery adaptation check: The sample size is 2pcs for each model. Check the suitability and normal functioning of the battery box by installing alkaline batteries or customer-specified types of batteries;
1) Key parts and internal inspection: sample size is 2pcs per model. Check whether the internal components are firmly fixed, pay special attention to the welding quality of the circuit board, whether there are welding residues, short circuits, poor welding, etc.
2) Barcode readability check: sample size is 5pcs per style. Barcodes must be clearly readable and scan results must be consistent with printed numbers and customer requirements
3) Important logo inspection: The sample size is 2pcs per style. Important or mandatory markings must comply with legal and regulatory requirements and customer requirements;
4) Wipe inspection (if any): Sample size is 2pcs per style. Wipe the energy efficiency label with a damp cloth for 15 seconds to ensure that no printing comes off;
5) 3M tape inspection: sample size is 2pcs per style. Use 3M tape to check the printing quality of the silk screen LOGO on the mouse;
6) Product drop test: sample size is 2pcs for each model. Drop the mouse from a height of 3 feet (91.44cm) onto a hard board and repeat 3 times. The mouse should not be damaged, components should fall off, or malfunction should occur.
