The monitor (display, screen) is the I/O device of the computer, that is, the output device. The monitor receives signals from the computer and forms an image. It displays certain electronic files to a display tool on the screen through a specific transmission device.
As digital offices become more and more common, computer monitors are one of the hardware we most often come into contact with when using computers every day. Its performance directly affects our visual experience and work efficiency.
The performance test of a display screen is one of the key indicators to evaluate its display effect and characteristics to determine whether it meets its intended use. Currently, display performance testing can be conducted from eight aspects.
1. Optical characteristics test of LED display module
Measure the brightness uniformity, chromaticity uniformity, chromaticity coordinates, correlated color temperature, color gamut area, color gamut coverage, spectral distribution, viewing angle and other parameters of the LED display module to meet the requirements of relevant international and domestic standards.
2. Display brightness, chroma, and white balance detection
Luminance meters, imaging luminance meters, and handheld color luminance meters realize the brightness and brightness uniformity of LED displays, chromaticity coordinates, spectral power distribution, chromaticity uniformity, white balance, color gamut area, color gamut coverage and other optics Characteristic testing meets the measurement requirements of various occasions such as quality, R&D, and engineering sites.
3. Flicker test of display screen
Mainly used for measuring the flicker characteristics of display screens.
4. Comprehensive performance test of light, color and electricity of single incoming LED
Test the luminous flux, luminous efficiency, optical power, relative spectral power distribution, chromaticity coordinates, color temperature, dominant wavelength, peak wavelength, spectral half-width, color rendering index, color purity, red ratio, color tolerance, and forward voltage of the packaged LED. , forward current, reverse voltage, reverse current and other parameters.
5. Incoming single LED light intensity angle test
Test the light intensity distribution (light distribution curve), light intensity, three-dimensional light intensity distribution diagram, light intensity versus forward current change characteristic curve, forward current versus forward voltage change characteristic curve, and light intensity versus time change characteristics of a single LED. Curve, beam angle, luminous flux, forward voltage, forward current, reverse voltage, reverse current and other parameters.
6. Optical radiation safety test of display screen (blue light hazard test)
It is mainly used for optical radiation safety testing of LED displays. The test items mainly include radiation hazard tests such as photochemical ultraviolet hazards to skin and eyes, near-ultraviolet hazards to eyes, retinal blue light hazards, and retinal thermal hazards. Optical radiation is conducted according to the degree of hazard. Safety level assessment fully meets the standard requirements of IEC/EN 62471, CIE S009, GB/T 20145, IEC/EN 60598, GB7000.1, 2005/32/EC European Directive and other standards.
7. Electromagnetic compatibility EMC testing of displays
In accordance with the relevant standards for displays, conduct electromagnetic compatibility tests on LED displays, LED display modules, etc. Test items include EMI conducted interference tests, electrostatic discharge (ESD), fast transient pulses (EFT), lightning surges (SURGE), dip cycles (DIP) and related radiation disturbance, immunity tests, etc.
8. Monitor’s power supply, harmonics and electrical performance testing
It is mainly used to provide AC, direct and stable power supply conditions for the display, and to measure the display's voltage, current, power, standby power consumption, harmonic content and other electrical performance parameters.
Of course, resolution is one of the important indicators for evaluating monitor performance. Resolution determines the number of pixels that the monitor can present, usually expressed in terms of the number of horizontal pixels and the number of vertical pixels. Resolution test: Tests a display's resolution, or the number of pixels on the screen, to evaluate its ability to display detail and clarity.
Currently common resolutions are 1080p (1920x1080 pixels), 2K (2560x1440 pixels) and 4K (3840x2160 pixels).
Dimension Technology also has 2D, 3D and 4D display options. To put it simply, 2D is an ordinary display screen, which can only see a flat screen; 3D viewing mirrors map the screen into a three-dimensional space effect (with length, width and height), and 4D is just like the 3D stereoscopic movie. On top of that, special effects such as vibration, wind, rain, and lightning are added.
To sum up, the performance test of the display screen is very important. It can not only conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the display screen from a technical perspective, but also provide users with a better user experience. Choosing a display screen with good performance can provide better performance. for a more convenient and intuitive user experience.
