Lighters are ubiquitous in our daily lives, saving us the trouble of old matches and making them easy to carry. They are one of the indispensable items in our homes. Although lighters are convenient, they are also dangerous, as they are related to fire. If there are quality issues, the consequences can be unimaginable. So the inspection of lighters with such a high utilization rate is very important, so as to ensure that the lighters leaving the factory can safely enter thousands of households.
One obvious aspect of the inspection standard for lighters is appearance inspection, which can detect problems at first glance on the spot, such as whether the casing is deformed, whether there are scratches, stains, sand particles, bubbles, rust, cracks and other obvious defects on the painted surface when observed at a distance of 30 centimeters. If there are any, each independent plane cannot have three points exceeding 1 mm, and lighters exceeding this limit will be judged as defective products. There is also color difference. The outer color of the lighter must be uniform and consistent, without any color difference. The trademark printing should also be clear and beautiful, and it needs to pass 3 tape tear tests before it can be used. The body needs to have a coordinated and aesthetically pleasing overall proportion and size, with a flat bottomed finished product that can stand on a tabletop without falling over and without burrs. The bottom screws of the lighter must be flat and have a smooth feel, without rusting, cracking, or other phenomena. The intake adjustment rod also needs to be in the center of the adjustment hole, not offset, and the adjustment rod should not be too tight. The head cover, middle frame, and outer shell of the lighter should also be tight and not offset from the main position. The entire lighter must also be free of any missing parts, with dimensions and weight consistent with the confirmed sample. The decorative patterns should also be clear and beautiful, firmly adhered to the body, and free of looseness and gaps. The lighter must also be permanently marked with the customer's product logo, etc. The instructions for the inner and outer packaging of the lighter also need to be printed clearly.
After the appearance of the lighter is fine, performance testing requires flame testing. The lighter should be placed in a vertical upward position, and the flame should be adjusted to the maximum position to ignite continuously for 5 seconds. After releasing the switch, the flame must automatically extinguish within 2 seconds. If the flame height increases by 3 centimeters after continuous ignition for 5 seconds, it can be judged as a non-conforming product. Moreover, when the flame is at any height, there should be no flying phenomenon. When spraying flames, if the gas in the lighter is not completely burned into liquid and escapes, it can also be judged as an unqualified product.
Safety inspection refers to the requirements for the anti drop performance of lighters, the anti high temperature performance of gas boxes, the resistance to inverted combustion, and the requirement for continuous combustion. All of these require QC quality inspection personnel to conduct testing experiments before the product leaves the factory to ensure the safety of product performance.
