If a domestic factory wants to accept purchase orders from large international brand supermarkets such as Walmart and Carrefour, they need to do the following preparatory work:
1. Familiar with the requirements of branded supermarkets
Firstly, domestic factories need to be familiar with the requirements and standards of branded supermarkets for suppliers. This may include quality standards, product safety certification, factory audits, social responsibility certification, etc. The factory needs to confirm that they meet these conditions and can provide appropriate documents and evidence.
2. Participate in production training
Large international brand supermarkets usually provide production training to ensure that suppliers can comply with their standards and processes. Domestic factories need to participate in these training and translate them into actual production quality and processes.
3. Review factory and equipment
Brand supermarkets usually dispatch auditors to audit manufacturers’ production equipment and processes. These audits include quality system audits and resource management audits. If the factory passes the audit, the order can only be accepted.
4. Sample confirmation before production
Usually, branded supermarkets require domestic factories to provide product samples for testing and confirmation. Once the samples are approved, the factory can produce bulk goods.
5. Confirm production according to the order
Order confirmation production includes confirming the quantity of goods, delivery date, packaging and transportation standards, etc. Domestic factories need to follow up on all order details to ensure timely completion of orders and meet the quality and service standards of branded supermarkets.
