Mobile power, commonly known as power bank. As an essential electronic product for people’s daily outings and business trips, the quality of mobile power is closely related to our health and safety.

In the third-party inspection work, the quality inspection of mobile power mainly includes appearance packaging inspection, function inspection and on-site testing.
For different types of mobile power, it may be slightly different.
You can carry out targeted processing according to different product characteristics combined with relevant standards and customer requirements.

1. Mobile power appearance and packaging inspection
That is, check and verify the appearance and packaging of the mobile power, including whether the color, size, interface, logo, packaging, etc. meet the specification requirements, and whether there are surface defects such as dirt and scratches.

Note: Regarding the logos on the product and packaging, important or mandatory logos must comply with laws and regulations and customer requirements.
Taking the mobile power exported to the European Union as an example, it must have CE and WEEE logos, and the height of the conventional CE should be ≥5mm, and the height of the WEEE should be ≥7mm.

2. Mobile power function inspection
The functional inspection is mainly for the input, output and connection functions of the mobile power.
Specifically include:
(1) Input function: The mobile power bank can be charged normally using the matching charging cable;
(2) Output function: The mobile power bank can be charged normally using a 5V USB rechargeable device;
(3) Connection function: All input and output port connection functions are normal.

3. Mobile power bank on-site test
The on-site test mainly tests the performance and safety of the mobile power bank, and evaluates whether its performance is normal, safe, stable, and complies with relevant laws, regulations, standards and customer requirements. Specifically include:

(1) Aging test: The sample size is 2pcs per model, and it runs for 2 hours at the maximum output current, and there will be no functional failure or safety problems;
(2) Overcharge check: The sample size is 2pcs per model, and the mobile power bank is charged for 2 hours at 200% of the rated voltage of the rechargeable battery in the mobile power bank and at the maximum output current, and there will be no functional failure or safety problems;
(3) Capacity test: The capacity of the mobile power bank is tested with the corresponding instrument, which needs to meet the customer’s requirements or more than 95% of the rated capacity of the power bank;
(4) Internal inspection: The sample size is 2pcs per model. Check whether the internal components are firmly fixed, pay special attention to the welding quality of the circuit board, whether there are welding residues, short circuits and poor welding, etc.;
(5) Key component verification: The internal components must be consistent with the CDF list;
(6) Product drop test: The sample size is 2pcs per model. Drop the mobile power bank from a height of 3 feet (91.44cm) onto a hardwood board, repeat 3 times, and the mobile power bank must not be damaged, parts must not fall off, or malfunction;
(7) Input/output voltage test: The input and output voltages must comply with the product labeling and customer requirements, otherwise record the actual input and output voltages;
(8) Input/output current test: The input and output currents must comply with the product labeling and customer requirements, otherwise record the actual input and output currents;
(9) Barcode readability test: The sample size is 5pcs per model. The barcode must be clear and readable, and the scan results must be consistent with the printed numbers and customer requirements;
(10) Wipe test (if any): The sample size is 2pcs per model. Wipe the energy efficiency label with a damp cloth for 15 seconds. No printing should fall off.
(11) 3M tape test: The sample size is 2 pieces per model. Use 3M tape to check the printing quality of the silk-screen LOGO of the mobile power bank.
