GB 23796-2008 "Basketball Stand" stipulates that the backboard should be rectangular, and its adjacent edges should be perpendicular to each other. The difference between the two diagonals should not exceed 6mm. If the backboard is protected by a metal border, the outer border line of the backboard should be at least 20mm wide and not obstructed by the metal border. The backboard should be printed with inner and outer border lines, with transparent backboards having white inner and outer borders and non transparent backboards having black borders. The rim is made of solid steel, with a rim strip diameter of 16mm to 20mm and an inner diameter of 450mm to 459mm.
