EU- CE
Electric blankets exported to the EU must have CE certification. The "CE" mark is a safety certification mark and is regarded as a passport for products to enter the European market. In the EU market, the "CE" mark is a compulsory certification mark. Whether it is a product produced by an enterprise within the EU or a product produced in other countries, if it wants to circulate freely in the EU market, it must be affixed with the "CE" mark to indicate that the product complies with Basic requirements of the European Union's "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization" directive.
The CE certification access model adopted for electric blankets in the EU market includes the Low Voltage Directive (LVD 2014/35/EU), the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMCD 2014/30/EU), the Energy Efficiency Directive (ErP), and is restricted to electronic and electrical products. There are 5 parts including the Directive on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).
UK - UKCA
Starting from January 1, 2023, the UKCA mark will completely replace the CE mark as the conformity assessment mark for most goods in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). Similar to CE certification, UKCA is also a compulsory certification.
Electric blanket manufacturers are responsible for ensuring that their products comply with the standards specified in SI 2016 No. 1091/1101/3032, and after making self-declarations in accordance with the prescribed procedures, they will put the UKCA mark on the products. Manufacturers can also seek testing from qualified third-party laboratories to prove that products comply with relevant standards and issue certificates of compliance, based on which they make self-declarations.
US - FCC
FCC is the abbreviation of the Federal Communications Commission of the United States. It is a mandatory certification. All radio application products, communication products and digital products need to be FCC certified to enter the US market. It mainly focuses on the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the product. ). Electric blankets with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RFID, infrared remote control and other functions require FCC certification before entering the US market.
Japan - PSE
PSE certification is Japan's compulsory safety certification, which is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of Japan's Electrical Equipment Safety Act (DENAN) or international IEC standards. The purpose of the DENAN Law is to prevent the occurrence of dangers caused by electrical supplies by regulating the production and sales of electrical supplies and introducing a third-party certification system.
Electrical supplies are divided into two categories: specific electrical supplies (Category A, currently 116 types, affixed with a diamond-shaped PSE mark) and non-specific electrical supplies (Category B, currently 341 species, affixed with a round PSE mark).
Electric blankets belong to the electric heating appliances category B, and the standards involved mainly include: J60335-2-17 (H20), JIS C 9335-2-17, etc.
South Korea-KC
Electric blankets are products in the Korean KC safety certification and EMC compliance catalog. Companies need to entrust third-party certification agencies to complete product type tests and factory inspections based on Korean safety standards and EMC standards, obtain certification certificates, and affix the KC logo on Sales in the Korean market.
For the safety assessment of electric blanket products, the KC 60335-1 and KC60..5-2-17 standards are mainly used. The EMC part of the assessment is mainly based on KN14-1, 14-2 and the Korean Radio Wave Law for EMF testing;
